Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated technical AWS and VMware expert to join the Security and Infrastructure- Enterprise Platform team. VMware Cloud on AWS is an integrated cloud offering jointly developed by AWS and VMware delivering a highly scalable, secure and innovative service that allows organizations to seamlessly migrate and extend their on-premises VMware vSphere-based environments to the AWS Cloud running on next-generation Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) bare metal infrastructure.
You will be part of global team of enterprise-focused security and infrastructure specialists architecting and building solutions for a broad range of customer use cases such as hybrid architectures, security, migration, and application modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate should have deep technical knowledge of and hands-on experience with VMware technologies such as ESXi, NSX, HCX, and vSAN, a strong understanding software architecture and cloud computing, and a solid understanding of AWS services such as Amazon EC2, VPC, and DirectConnect. In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible with both AWS and VMware.
Responsibilities:
- As a member of the Enterprise Platform Team, you will ensure success in helping customers accelerate their adoption of our specialized services and that of VMware Cloud on AWS
- Capture and share planning, implementation and optimization knowledge amongst the AWS Professional Services and AWS solutions architect communities
- Spearhead and manage the development of artifacts, data sheets, implementation patterns, and other high-value customer facing guidance and methodologies
- Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, field sales/account teams, and product teams at AWS
- Become a deep technical resource that earns the trust of customer executive stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 3+ years hands-on, technical experience working with VMware
- 5+ years of experience in a customer facing, consultative technical sales or professional services organization
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Experience working with VMware and AWS technology
- Preferred: An Advanced degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Experience working with customers in regulated industries that have requirements for working with one or more security and compliance regimes
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architecture Certification (Associate or Professional)
- Preferred: VMware Certification (Associate or Professional)
