We’re cooking up some new ideas in AWS End User Computing (EUC), and we’re looking for candidates with particular sets of skills. Skills acquired over a successful software career – including deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and Linux desktops, application streaming technologies, web browsers, web services, and more. Skills that make you a good fit for a team like ours.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team launching new products and ideas in the EUC space. You will help shape and deliver a new AWS product, using the power and scale of AWS to meet security and productivity needs for our EUC customers. You will lead a team building secure, reliable, fast, and highly scalable solutions – while also simplifying both IT administration and the end user’s experience. In the process you will have the opportunity to work with a number of industry leading AWS services and peers.

We’re looking for well-rounded software managers with a track record of solving challenging problems and creating great products for end users. As an SDM on our team, you’ll own engineering for your product end-to-end from design to development, and work closely with senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS. You’ll have a sound understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical industry experience, working across the technology stack.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
  • Experience partnering with product OR program management teams
  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze business requirements, write specifications, scope technical requirements, drive solution design across organizational boundaries, manage multiple software development efforts, establish rigorous testing standards and success metrics.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional, cross-organization teams to assemble project plans, secure commitments on deliverables, and lead the resolution of blocking issues
  • Demonstrated passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and driving high-quality, innovative, and robust solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Proven track-record of taking ownership and driving results
