Under minimal technical and leadership direction this individual contributor will works with various technology areas to oversee Technology Lifecycle Management activities (n-1, end of life (EOL), end of support (EOS) etc). Engages/Co-ordinates with cross functional team of technology subject matters experts to understand the technology landscape and identify/monitor/escalate risk pertaining to EOL or EOS. Accountable for overseeing projects that are high in priority, visibility and/or complexity. Ensures efforts within this space are defined, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner aligned to set standards. This role will have significant influence over our tech lifecycle management & governance framework as we define it.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Partners with various technology areas to ensure a comprehensive list of technology attributes is in place and being regularly reviewed and updated.
Collaborates and co-ordinates with others on the team to ensure technical needs are being addressed and End of Life or End of Support risks are being mitigated.
Drives and monitor status for any End of Life and End of Support products that are being addressed / actioned.
Leads EOL or EOS governance meetings to drive consensus around prioritizing risk mitigation work.
Proactively communicate early and clearly, issues with upcoming End of Life or End of Support and provide transparency to these items at senior leadership level.
Works with team, business and technical leaders to understand business operations and needs, in order to provide appropriate support. May make recommendations to improve processes and standards.
Assists in scoping out projects and continues to monitor progress to mitigate EOL risks.
Clearly and concisely socializes EOL/EOS mitigation plans and ensures buy-in at areas of technology
Prepares and may present at steering committee meetings to ensure and helps to ensure the scrum / delivery teams are aligned and prepared to participate.
Manages, and maintains comprehensive, accurate plans and schedules, and escalation management defined by governance standards.
Maintains, socializes and enforces CNA governance standards. Participates in improving the overall delivery model through consistent feedback loop and Information sharing.
Exhibits and promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing; shares industry best practices, and addresses problems or concerns.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Proven experience with Project Management and Business Analyst
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently to achieve team goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with peers, clients, Technology management, and be an effective member of cross-functional teams. Ability to present and contextualize information and data that can be consumed by senior leaders and C-Suite executives.
Requires strong diplomacy skills to guide, influence and convince others. Explains complex information and works to build consensus.
Knowledge of Technology and Operations processes and operating models, coupled with a good understanding of assigned business areas/portfolios.
Ability to make tactical decisions and provide input and recommendations related to project approaches and execution.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analysis skill sets.
A solid understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations.
