The Role
The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will play an integral part in the monthly accounting close, technical revenue accounting, financial audit, and other areas of revenue operations. This role will have a broad scope and help us scale the accounting team by implementing new accounting standards and taking ownership of close deliverables from start to finish. We are a small but nimble team so you must have the ability to think high level about processes and procedures, but not be afraid to roll up your sleeves. This individual will be an integral part of the accounting team in many areas. This is a great opportunity that will allow for career growth as the Company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue close process which includes running revenue schedules in NetSuite, performing analysis of appropriate revenue treatment, and booking Journal Entries.
- Perform analysis on proposed customer contracts and participate in advising on the appropriate accounting and revenue treatment
- Reconcile and manage deferred revenue schedules and other revenue related month end reconciliations
- Maintaining formal account reconciliations in areas such as deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, accounts receivable, and reserve accounts.
- Participate in the financial audit process, including preparation of materials for the financial statement audit, coordination with the external audit team
- Maintain technical revenue accounting memorandums
- Partner closely with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, and FP&A organizations.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality and integrity of financial data.
Requirements
- 5+ years of working experience within a public accounting firm and/or industry experience (enterprise software experience is a plus).
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, foreign subsidiaries and consolidations.
- Proficiency with accounting systems.
- Experience with Netsuite, Stampli, and Salesforce
- Exceptional project management, communication and interpersonal skills - you will be managing a workflow, with many moving parts, to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
