Site Reliability Engineer

The Role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will work as a member of the Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) team to build, manage and automate our AWS infrastructure and related systems. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code and helping software engineers to gradually assume full-stack ownership of their applications and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
  • Work collaboratively with Software Engineering to define infrastructure and deployment strategies and requirements
  • Build processes, templates, and systems to provide “Guard rails and Safety Nets” for Software Engineering to safely assume full stack ownership
  • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code
  • Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
  • Administer and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and workloads
  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring/alerting, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems
  • Participate in on-call support of Conversica core infrastructure services

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure, including but not limited to VPC, EC2, RDS, Security Groups, IAM, EKS, CloudFront, S3, Lambda
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks such as SOC2, CCPA, and ISO 27001 from a design, compliance, and auditing perspective
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform
  • Solid foundation of networking and Linux server system administration experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD workflows with tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CD, and deploying applications on AWS
  • Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
  • Strong bias for action and ownership
