Job Summary
Be part of our Configuration Management & CMDB team, focusing on the planning and implementation of CMDB use cases across the company. The Configuration Management Specialist partners with multiple stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities to leverage the CMDB and coordinates implementation efforts across teams. The Configuration Management Specialist works to harmoniously incorporate new uses cases into the existing roadmap to build the foundational configuration management & CMDB capability at Farmers.
Essential Job Functions
This position will focus on multiple aspects of enhancing the CMDB’s business value. Specific responsibilities include:
- Meeting regularly with various IT teams to understand how CMDB can best support them
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define CMDB use case requirements
- Documenting requirements of new use cases
- Coordinating with leadership in use case prioritization
- Developing detailed implementation plans in close coordination with our Zurich partners
- Driving the implementation of new and enhanced CMDB use cases
- Developing process documents to support steady-state operation of CMDB use cases
- Supporting CMDB users by creating documentation and providing training
- Participating in maintenance and auditing of CMDB data
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in Configuration Management and data stewardship with specific focus on ServiceNow CMDB (2+ years)
- Business analytics experience in audit, finance, procurement, lifecycle, or other disciplines focused on data quality and freshness (1+ years)
- Experience with relational database concepts, including query design
- Hands-on experience in data management and process enhancement
- Knowledge of ITIL fundamentals
- 2+ years in large enterprise environments

- An understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies, with DevOps concepts preferred

- Expert analysis, troubleshooting, technical and non-technical communication skills, both verbal and written
