The IT Manager, Digital Platforms is a key strategic role responsible for helping deliver solutions for multiple brands. This is a newly created role that will bring a design/creative first mindset to lead a rock-star software development team and establish UX as primary drive for all digital platforms organization wide.

You will be responsible for the technical oversight and management of digital platforms across multiple brands, including B2B and B2C websites, micro-sites, internal apps and technologies. You will be charged with helping develop the strategy, UX and standards by which all digital platforms are built, maintained, and expanded upon. As the IT Manager, Digital Platforms, you will ensure that all environments are agile, stable, and secure. You will also oversee website production and management, UX/UI design, and work cross-functionally with respective brand departments on platform migration, CMS management and maintenance, server technologies, software development, 3rd party technology integrations and other ad-hoc technology requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing, Brand/Creative, AS, CS and Sales to plan and execute projects by ensuring that teams have appropriate technical specifications, clear and concise direction, and resources to deliver projects effectively and on target.
  • Establish web project scope by studying strategic business drivers; discovering and validating business and technical requirements and parameters; obtaining input from subject-matter experts; examining and recommending changes to current business practices; developing and writing proposals.
  • Establish a center for excellence around UX/UI, communicating and elaborating UX standards, and build trust with business units to establish UX as a priority for all digital assets.
  • Conduct and lead research and A/B testing on all digital platforms and recommend features and changes accordingly.
  • Participate and play a leadership role in spring planning meetings to ensure that the team understands their objectives and has committed to completing their work on an agreed-upon timeline.
  • Develop web solutions by formulating objectives; planning project life-cycle deliverables and resource availability and application; preparing installation and modification specifications; leading the exploration, evaluation and design of technical solutions.
  • Support content migration efforts and make recommendations around how to enforce governance, guidelines and best practices through functionality in digital platforms.
  • Manage relationship with SAP, Brand/Creative, Digital Marketing, Product, Sales, CS, AS, Project Management teams to ensure digital product enhancements are integrated into back-end systems per requirements and delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Accomplish work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching employees; following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying work process improvements.
  • Work closely with internal providers, client and external vendors to build an understanding of technical requirements.
  • Supervise a team of web professionals by developing effective training procedures, appropriate tasks assignments, positive customer experiences and top-quality control processes.
  • Aim to meet project goals within the specified budget and adjust practice to reflect cost-saving measures.
  • Generate ongoing project status reports to be presented to company stakeholders.
  • Work to find and solve any problems with the function of a web project by implementing testing processes, and working with technical staff in order to address any issues.
  • Closely collaborate and provide guidance to both digital creative teams and back-end developers to improve website usability and overall customer experience.
  • Manage strategy on website(s) architecture and overall site structure; manage web development projects, resources and teams.
  • Lead research efforts into current and emerging web technologies and issues in support of web development efforts.
  • Identify, manage and drive dependencies across work-streams.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure technical development and testing activities are elaborated and aligned appropriately.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules defined by the business needs, but in-line with best practices.
  • Develop and establish a positive environment for the team.
  • Monitor direct report's performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to train, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
  • Oversee projects through to completion and continually maintain responsibility.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ten (10)+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of Agile methodologies working with Digital Marketing, UX Design, Brand, IT and Product teams.
  • Expert level knowledge of UI/UX design including testing, research, and accessibility standardization.
  • Five (5)+ years of experience with progressive responsibility managing and/or supporting digital technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
  • Three (3)+ years team management.
  • Exceptional leadership, project management, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience: 1) working within a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery process, 2) using a project management/ticketing tools such as JIRA or Wrike, 3) with web services and REST, 4) with CMS platform development, 5) with responsive website development, 6) with internalization and localization standards, 7) with API's
  • Front-end web development, including knowledge of prevailing standards and trends in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .net, content management systems, and web development frameworks.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study.

Other

  • Occasional overnight domestic/international travel required (less than 10%)
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours as business needs warrant; may include nights and weekends.
