As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader and role model within an organization. We are looking for someone who designs and develops technology to serve business and technology objectives, aligns points of view across teams and makes smart trade offs to help achieve the goals of individual teams as well as LinkedIn’s broader goals. This leader will foster LinkedIn’s culture and values around transformation, collaboration and results. This position is full-time and based in our offices indicated on the job posting.

The mission of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions is to empower businesses to reach, engage, and convert their audience at scale – leading to building a long lasting community of professionals that are relevant to your business.

You will join a team that is responsible for end to end marketplace objectives. You will build scalable, pluggable and reliable components/systems that support forecasting, brand awareness, event/lead generation objectives for our members and customers. As a tech lead, you will have an overall understanding of various platforms owned by teams especially around Forecasting, Recommendation, Experimentation, and Lead Generation. You will be instrumental in developing new products and features with operational excellence and steering LinkedIn applications teams towards creating well-reasoned solutions that create leverage, efficiency and impact.


  • Deliver impact by driving innovation while building and shipping software at scale.
  • Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to up-level the engineering organization.
  • Actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.
  • Design products/services/tools and code that can be used by others while upholding operational impact of all decisions.
  • Identify problems and opportunities and lead teams to architect, design, implement and operationalize systems.
  • Work closely with and influence product and/or technology partners regularly to help define roadmap.
  • Resolve conflicts between teams within the organization to get alignment and build team culture.
  • Review others’ work and share knowledge.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 2 of those years in an architect or leadership position.
  • Experience in leading by influence, formulating and driving technical strategies across various organizations.
  • Experience architecting and launching large complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in software design & development solutions
  • 10+ years programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java, C/C++
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
  • Experience with Enterprise B2B and Consumer B2C experience in Ad Industry
