Job Description
Nordstrom’s Supply Chain seeks a dynamic leader to support and expand our Outbound Transportation capabilities. You will lead a team of Engineers from diverse backgrounds on highly visible projects.
This is a great opportunity for a highly technical leader with a bias towards action and the ability to drive consensus! You are comfortable discussing software architecture and leveraging data to influence decisions. You have a proven understanding of the fundamentals of agile processes, deep knowledge of software development lifecycle and an experience to draw from that helps you build towards a future state while making smart tradeoffs to meet current objectives.
A day in the life…
- Build, maintain and train a highly performant diverse team to solve challenging business problems
- Provide technical and functional expertise and leadership
- Drive process improvements across multiple areas for increased efficiency and higher productivity
- Manage complex scope of work with multiple tracks in progress at a given time
- Work in a DevOps model taking complete ownership and responsibility for end-to-end solution
- Collaborate closely with cross functional product teams and establish effective partnerships on multiple initiatives
- Ensure team has the tools, resources and information needed for success
- Develop team performance metrics to measure success
- Develop and executes technology roadmap to meet our growing business needs
- Manage Vendor relationships
- This position may be required to perform other duties as assigned
You’ve got this if you have…
- 7+ years of professional work experience
- 2+ years of leading teams
- Deep knowledge of software design and proven ability to deliver complex distributed systems at scale on high visibility projects. Our tech stack is primarily Java/SpringBoot/Kubernetes/Kafka
- Strong experience in operational excellence (health monitoring, operational metrics, alarms, and support)
- Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience in architecting and building scalable and performant micro services
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Experience developing high availability, low latency systems/services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Supply Chain helpful but not required
- MS or BS in Computer Science preferred
Although Seattle based candidates are preferred, we are open to remote candidates that are willing to travel several days per quarter. Nordstrom is able to offer remote employment of this position in all US states except AR, MS, MT, NE, NH, ND, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

Salary Ranges for Nevada and Colorado ONLY – $131K – $203K + Bonus and Generous Benefit Package
