Team Kaiju seeks a Technical Art Director who can help us build a new world-class IP from concept to market for gaming communities around the world.

Start with a player first mentality, embedding an obsessive drive to know, understand, and serve the players who are engaged with the game
Anticipate technological advancements with the cutting edge of technical art trends within video game development, and evangelize solutions that will innovate both the player experience and the creative development of the product
Help build and guide a team that collaborates well internally and externally
Provide craft mentorship to Technical Artists working on the project
Drive building strategic visions, and a credible road map to reach target dates
Be the vanguard for building and maintaining a solid bridge between art, design, and engineering teams
Understand art and design direction requirements and convert them to new features, tools, improvements, and engaging in-game results
Work side-by-side with all directors, managers, and leads to take a multi-discipline approach to creativity and problem solving
Own art technologies, tools, pipelines, documentation, and budgets
Assure the homogeneity of the technical quality internally and externally throughout the game
Propose and create the right tools to accelerate certain procedural tasks
Be the gatekeeper of the budget, stability and performance of the art
Network with other experts to benchmark solutions, identify game performance and memory usage issues, and analyze risks on the project
Significant experience on AAA game teams and shipped titles start to finish as a technical artist
A portfolio of visionary and inspiring work, you can show and talk about your ideas to the team
Commitment to building long-term maintainable, stable, and testable systems
Expansive knowledge of the technical constraints of engines and game platforms
Experience with shaders and rendering/ animation pipelines and optimization
Experience with PBR materials
In-depth knowledge scripting on relevant DCC packages (such as Maya, Photoshop, Substance, and Zbrush)
Knowledge of asset management systems
Technical art expertise with Unreal Engine
Proficient with a scripting language, e.g. Python, C#, C++
Several years of professional management experience
