Senior Information Security Engineer

About the Role:

In order to capitalize on our success and continued growth plans we are seeking a Information Security Engineer, based in NJ.

As a senior member of the Information security team, this role will be taking a lead in engineering various security solutions and managing implementation of security technologies for Tradeweb’s enterprise technology.  The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in multiple domains of security and should be able to design and implement high impacting solutions across the organization.  The role will also have an opportunity to work with subject matter experts not only within security, but across infrastructure, network, development, and business teams.

We need people who are able to prioritize and can effectively communicate complex issues to non-technical team members.  We need someone who has business experience in the Financial Industry, who can meet with our internal and external clients and talk confidently about our Cyber Security program, and help integrate our business needs with our Cyber Security needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize security tools used by security team and other technology team members
  • Lead product selection efforts, including defining evaluation criteria and test plans.
  • Recommend and develop appropriate policy, standards, guidelines, process and procedures for remediation.
  • Serve as an internal information security advisor and subject matter expert to the organization on various security initiatives.
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Introduce best practices and principles to enable consistent delivery and enable alignment with long-term direction.
  • Collaborate with business units and corporate partners to ensure solutions are built in consistent with the organization's policies, programs, architectural recommendations, and information security standards
  • Understand the common types of cyber-attacks and countermeasures in the industry and engage with the business units to resolve within SLAs.
  • Develop tactical response procedures for security incidents.
  • Develop, build and implement a mature and robust set of metrics and reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, incident management, or cryptography.
  • Experience with next generation firewalls (Paloalto, Checkpoint, Fortinet).
  • Experience with different method of intrusion detection and prevention.
  • Extensive experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms (Splunk, ELK), logical thinking and ability to create complex searches, dashboards, etc. preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Privileged Access Management platforms (CyberArk, Centrify, Thycotic) preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Data Governance, Data Loss Prevention process and technology.
  • Automation experience in Python, PowerShell, Git, Ansible and any other automation tools.
  • Expert knowledge of security industry standards and best practices – NIST, CSA, CIS etc.
  • Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management.
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Detailed understanding of the TCP and IP protocol suites and ability to dissect and explain the contents of traffic and packets.
  • Experience with preparing standards and procedure documents.
  • Strong critical thinking, deductive reasoning, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent qualifications preferred.
