Social Responsibility and Sustainability
Environmental Policy
Women Impact Tech is unwavering in its commitment to using the Earth’s resources wisely to ensure a positive human impact on the diverse communities we serve. As an Events and Talent Solutions organization, we are dedicated to effecting positive change on our planet while ensuring that our operations do not negatively impact the environment. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters are integrated into how we conduct our business.
Women Impact Tech’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance responsibility:
With 1,200 attendees at our Accelerate Conferences, we understand the importance of reducing emissions and preserving our environment. If 1,000 attendees drove 30 miles to our conference, it would add up to 300,000 miles. As part of our sustainability program and to offset the emissions produced by our driving attendees, we have acted each year by planting four trees for every 10,000 miles driven, totaling 12 trees. This contributes to a greener future and helps us achieve our sustainability goal of zero emissions.
Other principles we are guided by:
- Ensure maximum efficiency by using energy-saving devices and servers and practices among employees at home to minimize waste.
- Being a fully remote company, Women Impact Tech significantly reduces the carbon emissions associated with employees' daily commutes.
- Actively promote recycling both internally and among customers.
- Source products for events that minimize environmental impact.
- Use Women Impact Tech’s platform to promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices.
- Comply with applicable national, regional, and local environmental requirements.
This policy is a crucial part of our ESG program and is overseen by the Vice President of Operations at Women Impact Tech, who is responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to it. We engage in comprehensive consultations with relevant internal and external stakeholders to understand environmental concerns and issues and evaluate and address them as needed.
An annual review of this policy is conducted, and updates are implemented as per the requirements.
